airman Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 (edited) i've looked at thermaltake silent boosts...but i don't see anything GOOD in them. they've only push about 28 cfm...about 2750 rpm, but have only 21dBa. what else could i get that's not incredibly loud...nothing like a thermaltake volcano (48dBa). the one i have is about...38 dba...nothing louder than that because my machine is in the family room...and it drives my parents nuts. so suggestions please? tarkins Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 (edited) I have a silent Boost and I have to say that the performance are pretty good. (diode temp: 50 at full load, 35 at idle, Vcore: 1.750) Most of the review I read put the silent boost and the aero 7+ in the same category (same performance). And the silent boost is REALLY quiet. Dignan Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 how about the aero 7+? looks pretty good. btw, what's the difference between these two hss...(besides brand) http://store.yahoo.com/xoxide/comaae7.html http://store.yahoo.com/xoxide/thtramdp4co.html Aero 7+ is all copper, moves more air but really noisy, but good The TT blower is a hybrid (not as good) even noisier and lousy cooling The silent boost is as good at cooling as my aero 7+ at med speed (still noisy) but the silent boost is freaking quiet. It is a great cooler, you wouldn't regret getting one.
