airman Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 (edited) I pulled this mobo from a new(er) compaq desktop. Something along the lines of an sr5100 or 5200 machine. Had a core duo e2130 or so in it. Anyways - processor went bad somehow (tried it in a known good mobo, no boot), so i figure i would try to frankenstein something up. i had a pentium d s775 laying around, so i figure i'd slap it in there. Got no post, no beep, no nothing. All i know about the motherboard is that it is as generic as it gets. the only letters on the board are "N15235". it's a foxconn board, i know that. but as far as finding any product specs about it...i'm lost - i don't know if a pentium d wouldn't be supported or anything like that. i would assume so...generally the bigger and better procs aren't supported in boards like these anyways, i pose two questions: is it possible that this thing just doesn't support an OLDER processor than was originally in it? does anyone know or where can i find some more info on this? Waco Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 If it doesn't beep at all with or without a CPU in it it's probably totally fried.
Art@zzie Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 You might try the Compaq /HP site. I know that many of those boards are proprietary. After HP puts their little bells and whistles in the bios, they don't act like a regular mobo.
