boot from Vista disc and choose Repair...

if that doesn't work,

disconnect all HDDs except the 320GB (Vista)

boot from Vista disc and choose Repair...

then reconnect HDDs

all you have to do is modify the boot.ini...

i had this problem when i cloned a drive recently, still booted to windows after the error, but it was annoying.....

i have another clean install on my lappy, so I just copied the correct boot.ini from the good rig to the one that i cloned, walla, problem solved...

also, if you loaded Vista with the XP install still attached to the unit, it can do some things that will frustrate you.....when i switch OS's, i have enter the bios and load one of the backup bios saved on my DFI....a little annoying, but is eliminates install fubarage like you have experienced...

good luck...

laterzzz....
