Asus Rampage Formula & E8400

Recommended Posts

So i got a new motherboard, and that means its time again :)

I had put my Commando motherboard to 400FSB with an 8 multiplier, on a 965 chipset here .

with a brand new motherboard, a new chipset and everything, i have to beat the 4.2 ghz it managed.

ill update as i reach higher speeds, or run into trouble

gogo for the rampage :D

put it up at 3.6 at everything auto. went fine.

the option to change the FSB strap was a very nice option from this board. by selecting the 400fsb strap for the dram i could just let it run at 1066. tomorrow im a day off and will go up to 4ghz and see what it needs to get it stable :)

4.0 should be a breeze as long as your memory cooperates and you use the right strap/divider. I don't think your m/b or your cpu will hold you back as long as you get those two right.

it seems both the asus rampage and maximus had lots of compatibility problems with ram, causing a Det Dram error on the lcd poster. Im downloading a new bios now that is supposed to clear this up....lets keep fingers crossed, otherwise im stuck at 3.6 (gotta say its a nice setting btw, everything on auto, temps low.....but not what id spend $300 for as a top)
