OCZ Vendetta 2 Mini Review

Yes the design was taken from Xigmatek, but those little dimples on the OCZ seem to cause that little extra air turbulence between the fins which improves the cooling. Its all about perfecting the design and I think the Vendetta has done just that and gained a little bit of an edge. All that aside though its only a 1 or 2 degree difference but you still get great temps from either coolers. As wev said, sometimes its worth the extra to buy from a trustworthy site like newegg and the support you receive from OCZ.

 

I agree. The problem is newegg doesn't have the Vendetta 2 in stock or listed anymore.

Yeah I got lucky getting one from there, I was all set to buy it then they were out of stock saying they wouldn't be back in until 5/13 and then I checked again and they were back in stock the next day, then I ordered it and then they were out of stock again and now they don't even carry it, weird. I was just about to buy the Xigmatek instead and thought I would just check the egg for kicks.

Prices are very good but the reseller ratings are low for the first few on the list, PC universe seems to have a good review count.

Good review Branjo! I'm kind of surprised that you used the stock push retention pins.

 

How easy would it be to use the H-plate from a Big Typhoon to hold that cooler down?

I thought about using a Tt backplate and H bracket,as I have a couple of coolers layin around,but went ahead and got the TR bolt-thru kit.

I have never used the H-plate but I would say as long as the screws are long enough it should work.
