Unable to boot with PCI vga card

Recommended Posts

Guest MAGiC

I am using my old DFI board (ultra-D) for a server system and i dont really need a PCIe card. Optimal solution would be with no vga card at all, is this possible? I have tried 2 different PCI vga cards and 1 PCIe X600 ATI card aswell, but all i get is 1 red led and beep and it stops there. 1 led suggest vga issues according to the manual, so i tried my 7900GT card, which i know works on the ultra-D board and it boots without any problems. Are there any bios modifications i have to use in order to make PCI vga cards work? or possibly even make it ignore the fact that no vga card is inserted?

i know in the bios there is an option for boot order on the video, but i do not think it would keep you from using a PCI card, no matter what the setting is.

worth a try if you haven't done it yet....
