god I hate people who think they xxxxing know what is best for everyone

remember people...if you want your religion to be the backing behind your laws, then take a look at every country that lives under Sharia (Islamic) law. That what you want? Yeah? Well too xxxxing bad, me and my AR-15 will ventilate your little missionary pals the same as we would Al-Queada and Scientologists (and martians, venutians, redneck terrorists, NASCAR fans, Yankees fans, the entire Detroit Red Wings hockey team, and finally, grandma after she watched that movie and it made her into a bloodthirsty killer because of some subliminal signal that played in the background)

technodan: maybe you were looking at a different Xbox360 version than I was yesterday...the graphics are awesome as far as I can tell (I watched it for about 30 minutes mesmerized). Not sure what you want in graphics...Crysis x10000? Not gonna happen.

On the PS3 jaggies were extremely prevalent, I have not seen a 360 version. However, this is only at 1080i as our 1080p projector is down for the count at the moment. It is possible I suppose that were it outputting correctly it may look better. I see no reason for this to be the case, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. In any case I'm much more impressed with Crysis at 1280x1024 with med/low graphics than GTA4 on the PS3, so take that however you like.

Of course gameplay is the most important. GTA (for me) has always been boring after around a week of play. Just my opinion, but previous versions don't offer anything in the way of replayability. I'll get around to putting some time in on this, but from what I've stepped in on it'll just be the same. Still a game worth playing through once of course, but hardly a game worth buying when a rental for a week is only 10 bucks.

I heard a rumor though that there is an online mode of sorts? Nobody here will take time out of their busy GTA4 playing schedule to actually check on that feature, and I'm damn well too lazy to Google it. If in fact it does have some sort of online mode, play might be extended. But since I can't really see the point in that beyond some sort of TPS/racing game I have to remain skeptical.

THE GAME ALREADY HAS AN "M" (MATURE) RATING...IT MEANS POLICE YOUR OWN xxxxING CHILDREN INSTEAD OF POLICING MINE YOU BALL-LICKING CHRISTIAN MISSIONARY xxxxTARDS[/b]

 Yah, nice to see the Politically Correct Whiners of America took the time to do research into what they were complaining about. Don't wanna make the Mad Mothers actually use the internet or anything and find out the thing is already rated for adults. A quick trip to Amazon.com or any other retailer would have shown the game is already rated Mature.

ditto. That and that Jack Thom-stickuphisass-pson was bashing it before it was even released. There is a "girls of GTA" video floating around that has several clips from the game involving strippers, and the rhetoric behind Thompson is all the same

Thompson sent a copy of the letter to Ars Technica, and his demands are far-reaching. "Indictments should be returned against Take Two corporately and its Chairman, Strauss Zelnick, along with other Take Two officers. Indictment should also be against Sony and Microsoft which are making this pornographic game available to minors, and openly so, on their PS3 and Xbox systems," Thompson wrote. "Further, indictments should be handed down against Wal-Mart, Best Buy, GameStop, and all other retailers distributing this game to minors at their retail stores, openly, to kids who are only seventeen."

I know i may not look like the young, pimple faced under 17 kid, but I still got carded for buying this game at Best Buy - anyoen else get the same treatment?

Oddly enough, the video clip was put together by the IGN group ( for whatever reason ) and Good'ol Jack-off is using it as ammo. Also found out that he offered his services (again, for whatever reason) to EA inorder to help them take over Take Two. EA of course was quite frank in their reply:

Surprisingly, EA's recent response to Thompson's proposal seemingly drops the corporate diplomacy you'd expect from the group in favor of metaphorically striking Thompson on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper.

"EA is a strong supporter of creative freedom for game developers," they state, before adding "We feel that your past statements – including false claims about content in our games – make any collaboration with you impossible."

I wonder if Jack was the kind of kid that no one picked for their team, thus all this hostility. Perhaps there is a deeper reason behind it - who knows. :eek2:

Dan is right, it does look rather poor on ps3... especially when viewed through a PC gamers Eye. I played it once on the day it came out for an hour... and haven't played it since. I just can't get passed the poor graphics... all of the perfect 10 reviews sucked me in to thinking the graphics were a ten... and they are not! he same thing happened to me on GTA SA on ps2.... that game had such bad graphics and poor draw distances it was unplayable for me.... The PC version however made the game much more playable... I'm fearing I may need to wait for the PC version again to get the full enjoyment out of the game.

hrmm...sucks to own a PS3 then eh? The Xbox360 version looks tight and though every game has jaggies (hey, wasn't the 360's super-horsepower supposed to make every game 720p w/AA+AF minimum????????), it isn't that noticeable (especially since the story IS so freaking awesome...so it goes back to the "who cares about graphics?" question...the answer really is only very few people, and if graphics are so important to you...well...what can you do? Story/gameplay is what is important to me and the majority of gamers).

I have no doubt the PC version will of course look better since you can have very high resolutions with all kinds of graphics options to fool with...but this game, when it comes to PC, is going to have some high requirements (not Crysis, but not Pac-Man either)
