CPU , MOBO, or PSU wht happened? thnx

Recommended Posts

i am not liking what you did, post haste get a proper supply in da rig. hotwired the way you have it could cause catistrophic failure, ie, more than just your PS going south....

when your PS starts acting up, time to get rid of the potential disaster waiting to happen...

laterzzzz........

You must have shorted the two pins from the top of the connector huh? wevsspot thinks it's in the bottom and you force it in there :D

Exactly!

At any rate Mako, as has already been pointed out your current setup isn't safe at all from any perspective. You should unplug the power supply and remove the paper clip jumper. That is only intended to enable you to jump start the power supply to check your voltage rails and to see if it even powers up at all. The jumper is not intended as a long term solution.

Have you checked the switch yet? When you push the button does the motherboard connector show a short when checking the resistances with an ohm meter? Of course unplug the front panel switch and check with the power supply unplugged.

Good question mousekin, but Mako has tried the power switch on the motherboard as well as the power switch on the case.

Symptoms are the same both ways.

This is definitely a power supply problem.

Mako, we've got a couple of OCZ reps here at the Street. Contact one of them and see if they can be of any assistance.

Cheers.

Sorry, I missed the on board switch. Chances are its not the route on the motherboard to the power supply connector.
