Guest Darien Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 EDIT: sorry for the repost... but I think this is the proper forum for it? Hey guys, I been out of the game a while... I'm 99% sure i'm screwed but could use a little help. I'm referring to my rig in my sig and it had been running daily at ~2.85 Ghz I was playing 'the witcher'.. (great game btw) and my graphics kept pixelating? I was running my 2 SLI 7800 GTX stock though? then my desktop kept getting like reddish pixelation... and I was like WTF .... for a long time my graphics had been tweaky, if the DVI plug in the back wasn't just right the screen would get this weird blue tint?... anyways... the pixelation got worse and worse over the next few days... and I mean BAD! so bad I couldn't even run regular apps in windows... but all the PC Mark tests were fine?? as I tested more (or even played games more) I kept getting the nvidia driver BSOD... things got so bad that I actually opened her up and decided to take out each of the video cards to test which one was bad.... NOW... here is the problem, I've got a 5/8' tygon watercooling system, which essentially means NO room to work whatsoever, also the cpu and the chipset are watercooled... things 'were' going great (very tough actually) as I was swapping around the 7800 gtx's, until at one point I had to contort the tubbing so bad to place the card that I had to loosen a hose clamp to get it to work... and... you guessed it too loose, some fluoresent green coolant got on the mobo... actually only a few drops, not to bad... but then it happened, the $hit hit the fan... actually my hand hit the power button by accident, which would not have been a big deal if my power supply was turned off like I thought... but it wasn't! the damn board powered up for about4 seconds and then shut itself off before I could hit the power switch in back!:eek2: anyways, I put everything back together to test it and it won't even start, can't even get the PSU to turn over:sad: it does have the 2 led lights powing on though, one by the ram and the other at the bottom of the board now the coolant is non-conductive and it was only a couple of drops... so i dunno.. it could have fried something, maybe it didn't I don't know, I can't see anything burnt. it could have been that I damaged either the cpu or the chipset from torqueing the damn tygon tubing so much just to get the damn cards in and out of there, I don't know... what I do know is, nothing is happening.. I've done a 1 hour cmos clear with the battery out of the board and the PSU unplugged, I did this after I took out the cpu, inspected it (looks fine) and put it back in, I also checked the chipset, looks the same as it did originally. So here is my question... am I totally screwed? I think the mobo is shot, but I not totally sure, there is still power going to the board as there are two led's on. Is there anything else I should try to recussitate my beloved NF4? I never had the chance to find out if one of my 7800 GTX's is hosed or not? any ideas there?
