Charisi Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 I have been having quite a bit of trouble with my internet. Roughly every 20 minutes or so, vista tells me that there is limited connectivity. It suggests that the problem is my router, (Linksys WRT150N v1.1), but I find that hard to believe seeing as how; A.) A Microsoft product is telling me this B.) I have current firmware installed on my router C.) My other two computers are fine, and have zero trouble I have searched all over the internet, and found all sorts of other people with this very same problem, but no solution. The best I have found is people suggesting to update firmware. I checked the site and I have the most up to date firmware available. I am desperate to get this fixed, seeing as how I can't game worth a crap like this. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. dr_bowtie Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 try updating the driver for the onboard nic or what ever you got...that could be one of those problems that help you decide to revert back to XP....
Charisi Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Yeah that was the first thing I did. It's so intermittent though. When I made the post, it was doing it every 10-20 minutes like clockwork, for roughly two hours. Since then it hasn't done it once. xxxxing windows. momoceio Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Try a different port on the router..
radodrill Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Are you having issues with a wired or wireless connection? If it's a wired connection, have you tried connecting the PC directly to the cable/DSL modem?
Charisi Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Sorry, its a wired connection. I'm going to try a different port for a few hours, then try it directly to the modem. I'll let you know. Thanks.
Charisi Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Fixed. Must have been the drivers for the old asus board + vista. With my new DFI board + current drivers = zero trouble.

Guest Chemojay Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 to network vista I had to assign it an IP address and not let it seek one automatically. This is something to do with the last three numbers of your ip. vista will see a network but will not connect if it is generated a number over 10 I think. where as in XP that is different. SO I assigned mine to xxx.xx.xxx.008 for example. Either way glad you found a solution.

Vista doesn't have problems with IP addresses with the host portion over 10...
