Amd extending their quadcore lineup aswell as B3 stepping

Recommended Posts

New to the lineup is no TLB bug, higher frequency and a new serie.

This new serie is called the 50's, so if you see a 9600 9500 9400 phenom, Do not buy it!.

This may be chaning in the future but at the moment it is like this.

The new modles start at 2.2 ghz to 2.5 ghz.

9850 have 2ghz memory controller versus the old 1.8 increasing the memory bandwidth and latency, so it is at the moment the best memory cpu ever!, aswell does the 9850 currently only ship in Black edition, may change in later time.

Amd also have the 65 Watts Phenom 9100LE ( ill check everything in this post to ensure I havn't either typed wrong or remembered names or alike wrong!)

This is a 1.8 ghz Phenom with same features as the other cpus.

All new phenoms are with stepping 3 performs the same as old ones.

As the tricores is stepping 2, they have the bug, you may wonder why amd delivers a tricore with bug and why this is happening again, cause one core is faulty or alike, disable, and sell as tricore, the tricores WILL always be 1 stepping behind the quadcores with the current design and strategy.

It is only the 9850 BE that i can confirm having the 2ghz memory controller.

I will be getting the 9850 BE when it is in stock, enjoy the good news amd fans.

Something to backup my atifan products(790FX/3870X2 CFX)

PLEASE READ ADDITIONAL INFO

since something always happens when i edit my posts, okey ill add this as an EXTENSION to my post since there is only one post between.

Okey,

Only the 9850 BE sports with a 2 ghz memory controller, in full duplex amd states then it is a 4 ghz, fair enough, we do it with memory aswell( Performing speeds)

All other models use a 1.8 ghz with other terms 3.6 ghz such the B2 steppings so used.

the list of new quads is:

* X4 9850, 2,5 GHz, 125W, 2 MB L2-cache, 2 MB L3-cache (Black Edition)

* X4 9750, 2,4 GHz, 95W, 2 MB L2-cache, 2 MB L3-cache

* X4 9650, 2,3 GHz, 95W, 2 MB L2-cache, 2 MB L3-cache

* X4 9550, 2,2 GHz, 95W, 2 MB L2-cache, 2MB L3-cache

* X4 9100e, 1,8 GHz, 65W, 2 MB L2-cache, 2 MB L3-cache

I missed the phenom 65 watt name just abit, it is identical to the others just low frequency and low TDP, and should be a wonderfull cpu for the powersavers with photoshop and alike in mind, used with a 7 series chipset you save even more power, that cpu is a go to you guys with the powersavings on ur mind with a must of quadcore, while it performs bad in games due to slow frequency.

All cpu's listed above are a B3 stepping

The 9100E is the only cpu without a 50 series name with B3 stepping, Rest of the x000 series are B2(nogo)

The tricores are as following :

* X3 8450, 2,1 GHz

* X3 8650, 2,3 GHz

* X3 8750, 2,4 GHz

Which is alike their quadcore brothers in everyway except 1 core less, and 0.5 mb cache less, rest is identical, aswell as the TLB bug as noted above.

As for overclocking only the 9850 have been reviewed at Legit reviews and some other sites, hardocp to come very soon.

2.8 ghz (300 mhz) is possible with stock voltages, a 3 ghz with some voltage on a air cooler.

It is a 125 watts cpu and is cooler limited.

3.2 ghz on water( Not certant, just a wild guess might be 3.1 or just 3 ghz for all i know)

So i hope others here will pick one of theese up @ 237 usd.

Enjoy theese facts, and buy a B3 stepping and not a B2, Theese chips are in stores in about 5 weeks over here 3-4 in US!

*NOTICE ALL CPU'S IS OEM ONLY, 9850 IS RETAIL, THE 65 WATT IS OEM ASWELL AS THE MOST OF THE LINEUP*
