How does free sound?

Linux is a free download.

If you want redhat go to redhat.com, if you want mandrake go to mandrake.com

click on download and find mirrors. Download the ISOS's, burn, and install :)

Well, Linux is free... 'free' is as in 'free speech', not 'free beer'.

You can download RedHat at ftp.redhat.com

The current version is RedHat 7.3 (Valhalla), and is 3 CDs. There are 2 CDs that contain the SRPMS, but you probably wont need them for a while...

Mandrake, Debian, SuSE, etc can also be downloaded from their websites...

Thanks.

I thought that you had to buy certain ones, but that must only be if you buy the CD's.

Also, is there a website with the how-to of the Linux code? I just want some basics so I can mess with it.

Thanks again!
