Neural_Overload Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 I just bought a new LCD monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 2232BW) yesterday and connected it to my GFX card (Foxconn 8800GTX) through DVI and it worked perfectly. Today I can't get the DVI to work, only analog (the analog cable has a DVI connector so it connects to my video card) which works. How do I make DVI work again? Is there a "Source" button somewhere on the monitor? Maybe you have to manually switch between VGA/DVI.
Neural_Overload Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Is there a "Source" button somewhere on the monitor? Maybe you have to manually switch between VGA/DVI.I've pressed it and it just goes to a black screen and then back to the Analog signal... wevsspot Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 First thing to check is your DVI cable. Replace if necessary. If that doesn't do the trick, then you have to suspect your monitor or the video card. I believe your monitor auto senses the input type and should automatically adjust itself for whatever type of input you are using. uneedav8 Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Try to startup in VGA mode and connect the DVI after, maybe the monitors out of sync when connected to the DVI port. Check the refresh rates too just for the heck of it. Also uninstall and reinstall drivers or a different version of it.

wevsspot Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 SuppA - I think Neural is contemplating the purchase of a different monitor (as he has started another thread concerning the best gaming monitor). Neural, it thats a true statement . . . Can we close this thread since there isn't any reason in pursuing it?
Neural_Overload Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 I've decided I'll just hold off to buy a new one. So you may close this thread if you please.
