I've been told it's better to do a clean install with sp1, but would it really make any difference?

well....in my eyes i see it like this

the SP1 is supposed to give better performance for ur vista, so don't reinstall, just install the SP1 as you would any other update, if you are ok with reinstalling, do that if you dont see a difference, or go back to xp hehe

Installed sp1. So far cannot see any difference or better performance in Pista... Sorry I mean Vista.

well theres Vlite, and people said its not possible, cuz the sp1 files are encrypted themselves, im sure something will be thought of

slipstreaming ability will definitely be an option soon enough...there's absolutely ZERO Microsoft or any other software company can do to either

 

1. stop piracy

2. stop modifications

3. stop ANYTHING

 

why they continue to try is beyond me, and it only makes us, the legit customers, classy lady louder and louder about the xxxxing HASSLE this copy protection . does (do people pirate Windows because it's too xxxxing expensive? no one I know would want a pirated copy of such a crappy program...)

If you already updated through the MS website you may have had all the critical updates.

 

We will have to wait and see, hopefully an easier way to integrate it will come out.

yes I already had all the updates from mirkinsoft but all the reviews I read said sp1 "made better performance" which I can now after 12 hours use confirm is ABSOLUTE BO***X

Not much point in slipstreaming SP1 though, since there are preintegrated discs/images available, and MS includes vsp1cln.exe to clean out the SP1 installation files and pre-SP1 files.

PLENTY of reasons to slipstream just like we do with XP (since my original XP Pro retail is what...7 years old?).

 

Dumbasses that bought into Vista right away will have lots of (OEM or retail or VLK or Enterprise) reasons to slipstream instead of installing then cleaning then installing SP1 etc.

 

It's the reason why we do it for all OS's. Vista is no different.

 

I've got Vista64 and SP1 now and it's a complete and utter piece of . still, and getting dumped off this week while it's still spring break.
