2x 1Gb D9GMH or 2x 2Gb ?

Recommended Posts

Hmmm......

Should I get

2x 1Gb Team (no heatspreader) 5-5-5-15 PC8000 D9GMH $70

or

2x 1Gb Team (no heatspreader) 3-3-3-8 PC5300 D9GMH $43

or

2x 1Gb Team Xtreem (heatspreader) 4-4-4-10 PC6400 D9GMH $90

or

2x 2Gb OCZ Plats PC8000 5-5-5 $120

What would be the best choice?

All the Team RAM is guaranteed D9GMH, but the OCZ is 4Gb.

2x1GB, and they probably all overclock the same. If you have the extra cash, I'd get the PC8000 stuff. Otherwise just get the cheap kit.

Is 4Gb worse than 2Gb?

I use my rig for gaming (WinXP 32-bit and Vista 64-bit).

So it actually makes games seem slower? lol.

No, it feels slow in Windows. Works fine in games, but it doesn't improve anything either.

By the time I need 4 gigs I'll be using DDR3. :)

Of course I haven't had the best 4 gig kit to work with either (on a buddies rig), I managed DDR2-1000 at 5-4-4 but that's the best I could manage. I'd rather have DDR-1100+ if at all possible. Maybe only perception, but that's the way I see it.
