Mavrick813 Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Hey guys, I just aquired a gig with a local school to help repair and rebuild their Computer Lab comprised of 25+ Dell Latitude C640 Laptops. It seems the last teacher they had using these would just pile them in a closet opne at a time as they stopped working propperly. None of them have power cables and The majority of them are in need of being fully recovered and braught up to date on drivers and what not. HOWEVER, they don't have any of the Recovery disks. All they have are the driver disks. So I called Dell to see if I can get a copy of a system recovery with Windows 2000 Pro on it, and they don't have any. But the guy did say that since I have the Driver, Diagnostics, and Utilities disk that all I need is a Copy of Windows 2000 pro. So, does anyone have a disk they can make me an ISO of and e-mail to me? I found the power cables on Parts-People.com for $35.00 each so that's a start. Let me know PLEASE! momoceio Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 I have the CD, I can make an ISO for you. On a side note, it almost seems like the school would just be better off replacing the laptops instead of dumping money into them. Mavrick813 Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Well, Having me Format them and Buying the 20-30 Powercords will cost them $3000.00 give or take. Building a whole new Computer Lab with 30 Systems. Even surplus pricing Say $500 a system from a place like dell. Adds up to what $15,000.00 That's a Big kick in the Pocketbook for anyone. Added it's a school for Handicapped kids and this is just to show them they have the ability to learn how to do some basic things on Computers.
