RobertoIsRad Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 So I'd like to get a mid-tower case to fit this triple rad inside. I don't want to use a rad box or anything like that. I'm open to modding the case and losing bays. A stacker would be nice but it's huge. Any suggestions would be great as I've googled from one side of the internet to the other. Thanks
t_ski Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Here are my two mods with a similar setup. The first is a Lian Li PC-A10B with the rad mounted externally: http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=77536 The second was a $20 SVC case that I barely had room to mount a GTS360: http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=62666 Hope that's enough to get you started. Just ask if you have any questions.
RobertoIsRad Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Cool thanks. Is the GTS360 bigger than a mcr320?
t_ski Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I know for a fact th GTS is thinner, but I don't know if it is longer or shorter. I'd suggest going the the manufacturer's websites and researching the dimensions.
radodrill Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I think the dimensions of the HW Labs BI GTS 360 are very close to those of the MCR-320 (except the thickness as pointed out by t_ski); Swiftech just uses a non-standard naming convention. RobertoIsRad Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Ok 2 more questions, Do you have a link to the $20 case (granted you first posted 2 years ago)? I tried looking on the website and didn't find it. Second can that cheap case fit a 8800GTX?
t_ski Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 No, I don't, but since it was so long ago they probably don't have it any more anyway. It was in the clearance section though... I did look through the steel cases and found a bunch of $30 ones on page three: http://www.svc.com/steeltowercases3.html There were also some nicer $40 cases (including some Cooler Master's IIRC) on page 1. Shipping to you is probably going to be about $20 their cheapest way - at least, that's what it was for me and soundx98.
