pikachinks Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 I want to buy a chipset watercooliing for my N4 SLR-DR expert, but i'm afraid of running into video card clearance problems. I dont plan on watercooling my video card because I usually never tend to keep my video card longer then a year. Does anyone think It would fit with my current MSI 8800 GT? red930 Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 It should, the GT only has a single slot cooler doesn't it? In any case you could always use the bottom PCI-e slot if the cooler gets in the way.

You might be able to find pictures of SLI 7900GTX's or something older that would demonstrate how close it'd be. I imagine it'd be real tight if it fits. Also email DD, they'd be able to tell you. Or you could just watercool the cards too.

red930 Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Nope, that's mine. I just got really lost and confused, as usual. Wish I had a shot of SLI in that thing, I used to have a waterblock and two low-profile 7800GTX's in there. Might give you a closer look to see if the bigger cards would fit. As for getting it inside...I've seen people put them in the very bottom of the case before. You could either align it so the back side would give air to it or the bottom. Alternatively, you might be able to put it in the front of the case if you can find some kind of mesh panels to replace the current ones. If you want some measurements I'll be happy to get them for you. It's a much different system now but the case is still here. Also, are you sure you need that waterblock? You could just slap an Evercool on there and you'll probably be fine unless those cards kick out more heat than suspected. pikachinks Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 lol I added you to msn if u were wondering whothat was.. yeah i was thinking about doing the 2nd tier inside tray or what not. I have the evercool fan mod but i haven't been paying close attention to my temps since i was in vista. I finally put on mb5 on again and i was like holy shizzle.. it idles around 44ish and after gaming it gets up to 55-56 iono if i should be concerned but then again i heard after reaching 65 u get problems with the chipset? iono.. btw i like ur setup very clean..
