Mod Nation Phenom computer

Recommended Posts

Got this in my email this morning, I'm sure a few others have as well. Seems like they've been working on it for quite some time but figured there's at least one loser like me that never knows what's going on anymore.

Hello, Mod Nation Citizens!

Mod Nation Co-Founder, Bill Owen commissioned by AMD to build the ultimate computer case to showcase their new "Quad-core" Phenom 9900 processor!

Project Phenom Worklog

There are a couple videos showing its design and construction along with a bunch of pictures.

I was thinking more along the lines of the 2001: Space Odyssey song as it slowly opens.

I've been watching that one since the beginning, amazing how much work/money was put into that rig.

Yeah i like it but i am not sure about the polished aluminum. To shiny for my taste. But i do like how people and companys are thinking outside the box and trying to make very innovative products.

No kidding.

If I had millions (upon millions) of dollars I'd live in a pretty small house with a massive workshop next to it with all the latest metalworking, woodworking, injection-molding etc, etc gear in it.

Just so I could maybe use it all once to half build something really random and stupid before never completing it and watching Futurama instead.

its not just polished aluminum.

It is all chrome plated.

The back piece is painted chrome, then airbrushed over for weathering and logos and stuff.
