I have not oc'd my memory settings as I will be replacing my ram next week. I am currently running at 9x400 for 3.6GHz on Q6600.

Voltages:

CPU Vid Special Add +137.5mV

SB 1.150v

SB Core/CPU PLL 1.55v

NB 1.5v

CPU VTT 1.345v

Clockgen Voltage Control 3.45v

CPU GTL 0/2 Ref Volt 0.67x

CPU GTL 1/3 Ref Volt 0.67x

Northbridge GTL Rev Volt 0.67x

I changed my sig and I thought it updated but maybe not. It is a Dark P35 T2RS. Seems to be much more stable on the voltage than the 680i was. I may try a little higher onthe cpu oc. I was sure if I should have posted this in the dfi mobo section or not. I put it in the oc section so hopefully I didn't put it in the wrong place.

Idle temps on the cpu are 32C,32C,32C,33C. Load temps are 41C,41C,42C,42C. I am using an Ultra 120 Extreme with a delta fan. MY case is a Mountain Mod UFO case so there is plenty of airflow. The voltages are definitely more stable on this mobo than they were on the my 680i based mob. With these temps and I am going to see if I can squeeze 3.8GHz out of this cpu.

Your target overclock is anything but unrealistic, take it from me, 3.8+ is relatively easy, all you need is a ton a patience and a lot of alcohol. :shake:

Seriously, I was able to get mine up to 3.87 using a little over 1.5v and the temperatures were still insanely low. Just make sure your RAM doesn't become the limiting factor in any form.

what kind of ddr2 speeds would u recommend for insane OC's like these? DDR2-1066?

DDR2-1066 would definitely allow you get to about 3.65-3.7 a bit quicker than say, DDR2-800 would, but most 800MHz-rated sticks will aptly overclock a good 100MHz+ over their rated speeds, and that'll be enough to get you such an insane overclock.

However, after a while voltage becomes both a factor and a problem, some sticks rated below 1066 will begin to require an insane amount of overvoltage to retain speeds greater than 950 stably, so unless you plan to see how far you can take your RAM first, I'd suggest going with a multiplier that'll prevent it from exceeding 900-905MHz.

I was never able to go over 3.6GHz on my 680i mobo but I am going to give it a try on this one. I have ordered some GSkill 2x2GB PC8000 ram that I am waiting on so I will use some dividers for now and see how high I can get this cpu on this mobo.

so buying a ddr2-1066 is deffinatly better, then ddr2 800 overclocking and general usage wise? thats my understanding so far, im still learning intel OC'ing :)

For the most part, yes, and not to mention a wide majority of 1066MHz-rated sticks use Micron D9 chips, which means they're superb overclockers, as long as your motherboard can keep them satisfied with enough voltage, and they're actively cooled.
