Removing Linux dual-boot

Mindflux

Recommended Posts

I have both Vista and PCLinuxOS on my laptop. Having decided that linux kind of sucks for a laptop, I want to remove it, rebuild the windows boot loader, and get the hd back to one partition.

How do I do all this?

to get the bootloader back, insert vista cd, click repair computer, and then select boot recovery or something like that

to get back the hdd partition to ntfs, u can use disk management in vista

most repair cds are recovery cds, and those only reinstall the OS, then he'd have to backup everything :(

if u use a gparted live disc, u can erase the linux partition from ur hdd, but u'd still have to restore the BCD (vista's bootloader)

thats true, if u remove the linux partition it takes the boot loader with it (GRUB, lilo, w/e) and then u may not be able to boot into vista...
