p0tter Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 What card is this? This card was sent back RMA, the part number indicates its a regular 8800gts. But on the back of the card is a little sticker that states 8800GTS SSC. Bios is 60.80.20.00.01 The Part Number is 640-P2-N821-AR, but I thikn its a underclocked SSC (112 stream processors vs 96). taowulf Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 112 stream processors? Isn't that a characteristic of the 8800GT? IIRC, the only previous 8800 card with more than 64 stream processors was the Ultra. The memory and G80 tend to lend credence to it being the 8800 GTS 640MB. Oh, and the SSC would only indicate the clocking it was set to from EVGA.

It was pretty much the stepping stone between the G80 and G92 GTS.
Mindflux Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 doing a quick scan through newegg most of the old gts's list 96 stream processors but the evga 640 is listed as "96+" and there's an xfx listed as "112 stream processors" So I guess evga uses some OC'd regular cards and some stock newer cards w/ the extra processors for their improved version.
