TheReaper Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Hi all I got my two new WD SATA2 RAID edition drives 160gb each to raid, advertised as SATA2 16mb cache 3.0gb.... Problem, I just looked at WD website and it's listed as SATA (not 2) 8mb cahce, 1.5gb. https://websupport.wdc.com/products/pf.asp?...01KCC0&s=search They're the WD1600SD
SpeedEuphoria Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 It says the SD's are 8mb cache "8 MB (SD) and 16MB (YR and YS, AYYS, ABYS)" So the seller must have miss labeled them, I would find out Everything on google comes up as 8mb and sata

TheReaper Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 CONCLUSION: I emailed WD again, they said they do not make such a component. If someone tries to sell you WD16000SD, it is NOT SATA2, it is NOT 16mb cache, AND it is NOT 3.0gbps. Here endeth the lesson.
