nghisus Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Has anybody seen specs for a system with this setup? I'm curious and thinking about going this route.
powsmowl Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 The Crossfire is definetly good, but if the 3850 as a PPU is going to be worth it...dunno. My suggestion would be try it, and if it doesnt work just send the 3850 back.

suedenim Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 If its purely for gaming then right now I think you're 3850 will be utterly wasted. With Intel buying Havok and NVidia getting Ageia most game devs are likely to hold off on implementing physics API's that only 50% or less of games buyers will use. Now if Intel and or Nvidia sink a stack of cash into a game dev team to ensure their API gets used then a FEW games will support it but again it would be foolish of them to make it a key element of the gameplay. Imagine the min specs on the games 2Ghz CPU, 2Gb Ram etc... oh and the NVidia 800x mobo (200 notes) and the Nvidia G93x GPU (400 notes) on top of a DX10 capable GPU. just watch those games fly off the shelves.
