I have been using these at work and recently purchased on for home. These things really come in handy and I'm surprised they have not be out earlier. I was just wondering if you just have any feedback about these. The picture is just an example of one but there is a bunch out there. I have read that lots of people have been frying there usb ports and even their motherboards using these things, this kind of worries me. What do you guys think?

They've actually been available for quite some time; initially just for 1 drive interface type though. It's probably just the circuitry used for an external drive enclosure without the big box to house the drive.

Most probably the people complaining about frying ports are trying to use them without the additional power supply.

Yeah that is virtually what it is, enclosure internals.

I have used these at on all sorts of drives and never had an issue.

Even if you don't use the additional power adaptor it shouldn't fry your ports.
