Anybody ever "Fonzed" there PC?

Recommended Posts

Remember how the Fonz used to be able to turn on the jukebox by tapping it? My power switch went bad on my case and yeah, I can turn it on by bumping it, it was kind of funny at first, but yeah I'm waiting for a new case to come in, I wanted one anyway.

lol ...... just be careful. I once trashed a hard drive by smacking the desk my case was on.

I was playing a game (BF2 I think) and I got fragged or something .... of course I got pissed and smacked the desk .... Not that hard either.

But looking at your sig .... you have plenty hard drives to spare ! lol

Kind of did the opposite once;

I had a Tsunami Dream case that I added a large window to, well the window kit I got was so crappy the window would fall out once in a while and I would have to spend mad time fixing it just for it to eventually fall out again.

Well I put something heavy down on my old desk and the window started slipping again, so I punched it.. window shattered and the PC BSODed.. I jumped up and yelled "classy lady, you got knocked the xxxx out!!" That . was funny as all hell.

I have zapped PC's before with static shocks and rebooted them.

Me too. My last case, A Thermaltake v5000a, for some reason, everytime i touched it, i got zapped, and the pc either rebooted or said "FU", and shut down. Guess it got mad at me. I tried switching psu cords, making sure none of the add -on cards were touching the mobo panel, never could figure it out. Then it just stopped happening. Weird.

I don't have that problem with my new case though. I wuv it sooo much. Sometimes i just sit and look at it. :rolleyes:

I started using the "Fonzie" back when Compaq introduced their Presario "all in one" units.

They had a bad habit of losing the network device even though it was integrated onto the motherboard. Turned out to be a bad solder joint during manufacture.

We had about 150 of those things between two casino properties and the only way to get the network back online was to apply a single hit directly on top with the heel of your fist.

Worked every time.

Of course, I didn't know it was the "Fonzie" until the Executive Secretary to the General Manager said, "oh, just like Fonzie" after I reset her network.

Sounds like my old TV; You'd have to hit it a few times on the side, otherwise it would just have a picture like scrambled PPV Porn. Sucked waking up the whole house if you wanted to watch TV at night.
