Syngensmyth Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Yes sir it was Norton Ghost I remember now you mention it. I just used Acronis and Snapshot to try them out. Good stuff. I always config my OS only partition and keep programs files, my docs, pagefile, etc. on another drive or partition. I leave my profiles on C: but they can be moved as well, just a little more work than I need. This keeps my OS partition as small as possible. Then Snapshot image somewhere on another drive. I can restore in a few minutes. Snapshot restore for the OS needs to be done from dos with NTFS capable dos. I have a boot flash drive with NTFS dos and also boot CD with NTFS dos. Unless my unit burns in a fire or explodes, I should be up and running in no time. I have always hated Ghost and it hated me. Now Ghost is like all other Symantec software and ultimately bloated.
