stinkpot Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 account manager is in the system > administration drop down menu i beleive. No, I don't have account manager in my drop down system menu, but I figure it out how to go to root. I found this information on Ubuntu: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RootSudo According this website, the command sudo will put you in root. The author saids that root is locked for security purposes in Ubuntu and the only safe and security way to get to root is through the sudo command. The author describe it as double edge sword, point out its good uses and it bad uses as well. Just read the article and tell me what you think. stinkpot Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 You were asked for a regular username and password, that password should be what it asks you for when you want to perform an root user level task in a 'regular' user session. Nope, that do not work. Read this information by Ubuntu. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RootSudo
taowulf Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 sudo can take a little getting used to, but it is a good thing, trust me.
