Recommended Posts

I need a PSU to power the following:

Intel e8400 clocked to however high it will go lol.

DFi P35 Dark

evga 8800gts g92 also clocked to however high it will go

2x some sort of HDD in RAID0

about 14 fans (for RAD + case airflow)

2x dvd drives

It must have a lot of molex connectors.lol.

It must not exceed $160 with or without rebates.

Any input is appreciated.

This power supply has a 24-pin main connector, a 4-pin 12V connector, an 8-pin 12V CPU connector, 8 peripheral connectors, 6 SATA connectors, a floppy connector, and two PCI-E connectors, two 6-pin to 8-pin PCI-E connectors. The Silencer 750 Quad is NVIDIA SLI and CrossFire certified. This economical, ultra-quiet power supply is backed by a 3-Year warranty and support.

Surely you can go another $10.

{EDIT}

The PC Power&Cooling 750W would also be my first choice. And in fact I've been saving my pennies just to buy one of those suckers.

I also would reccomend PCP&C, but if your looking for something modular, the Silverstone Decathlon series is modular and also has only a single 12V rail.

pcp&c 750 quad is the same PSU as the seasonic m12-700

i bought my seasonic when it was fairly new at about 200

its still banging strong now. and worth the extra.. mainly the ease of modular cables xD

if you want cheaper. the corsair HX line are all seasonics.

the new TX ? (correct me) are made by another company. but tests on it. show its banging good for the buck.

in fact. very very good.

I will recommend Silverstone Decathlon series as well. I have one of these (750W). It's 100% modular as well as being a very solid PSU.

Seasonic, PC&C, FSP and CWT are top brands. Avoid Seventeam and Cooler Master Extreme, a lot of trouble with DFi, Epox and Asus motherboards.
