Yukon Trooper Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Never RMA'd ram before but I have to now. One stick passes Memtest with flying colors while the other craps out the first second of testing. I sent an RMA support message and asked if it was OK that I just send the one stick. They said yes but suggested sending the pair back as it is matching ram. I'm wondering if I should send both back or just the one. Are sticks of ram matched that closely? Shouldn't I be OK as long as I receive a stick of the exact model of ram?
radodrill Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 They often undergo testing in the manufacturing process to closely match the pairs; your best bet is to go ahead and RMA the pair.
ReelFiles Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Send both back, you definitely want the same revision chips in a matching set.
