ElementlMage Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Well it has been a while but nice to see DFI street still going strong. Anyway, I recently re-installed XP to correct some bloat issues. However, when I try to boot the OS with out the install disk with or without the boot from CD-ROM enabled I get the hal.dll error. When I have the disk in it lets me pass. Any idea how to fix it? Much appreciated.
momoceio Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 It's DIY-Street now :0 Welcome back HAL errors are usually from the storage controller drivers being incorrect. I would suggest either a repair install or doing another fresh install. Have you had and weird issues with your hard drive? ElementlMage Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Screw the name change it will always be DFI to me. Nope everything runs fine. Just transfered all of my backups back on to the disk. Took 2 hours but that is about typical for my RAID 0 array to write 300 GB of data. This is my first time putting XP on my RAID 0 so that my be the issues. I have always run it on my single 250 just for the sake of piece-of-mind. I know I loaded the correct drivers though. They were the RAID drivers that came with my board.
