Some_Guy_ Posted December 8, 2003 Posted December 8, 2003 I'm planning out a new system in my head, but I have no idea when I'll be able to do it. Anyway, is there any reason I shouldn't use this board instead of an A7N8X Deluxe? This one's about $40 less, and it seems to have all the right features. The only difference I can see is lack of SATA.
bigred Posted December 8, 2003 Posted December 8, 2003 biostar isn't known as a top of the line maker. their quality shows it too. try one of these from dfi 4 sata raid, awsome sound system, firewire, quality, reliablity (just bought up 8 of these for comps I'm building for people). not to mention the regular retail price is ~$
smithy Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 If you want a proven overclocker board at your 70-80 range I would only consider the EPOX 8rda+ series. Proven overclocker and mentioned in enough forums that it comes third in popularity after the A7N8X Deluxe and Nf7-s. All other boards are really not mentioned in benchmark purposes. http://www.vr-zone.com/guides/AMD/Barton/
syneze Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 I would be inclined to agree with smithy, 8RDA+ are great OC'ing boards for cheap.
O(V)eGA_l2el) Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 Can not go wrong with Asus or Epox boards.
Dignan Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 Anyone that has the bartons on any type of phase change uses the epox board (great OCer). I have become really partial towards the MSI K7N Delta L though, great bios options, good looking, all good features that you will use. Some_Guy_ Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 Thanks for the replies. I'll keep these in mind. Maybe I'll just win the folding prize and then I won't have to worry about it!
