Highclock Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 Q6600 4GB Patriot 4-4-4-4 DDR2800 8800gt 512mb DFI LP LT X38 T2R Got this system put together the other day, but every time I try to change any options under the genie bios overclocking options, I get the C1 error. It will reboot over and over until the bios is cleared, but then everything is fine. Any changes to any other settings works just fine, but I bought this board to overclock, and I can't do it at all. Suggestions? Comments? Questions? radodrill Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 On the 680i; C1 corresponds to a memory error, so that may be the case for the X38 as well. what exactly is your RAM configuration; 2x2Gb or 4x1Gb? A few things I'd recommend are: - make sure the DRAM voltage is set to what the RAM is speced at - Try out each stick of RAM individually to see if a specific one is causing a problem
Highclock Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 Well I decided to humor you and try different configurations with the ram, but all of them got the same results. It doesn't matter what settings it is that I'm changing, just anything in the Genis Bios settings causes the C1 error. Even if I just try to lower FSB by 1 and nothing else, I have this problem. Frustrating, but in my experiences, DFI release bios' have never been that great. Here's to hoping they get a flash soon. Highclock Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Apologies for not replying sooner. I flashed with a beta BIOS from DFI's site and that seems to have totally cleared up the problem. 3.6ghz stable so far! Thanks, and MERRY CHIRSTMAS!
