Hemidare Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 I just installed this little gem of a fan to hopefully get some of the hot air generated from my XFX 8800 GT Alpha Dog Edition. That is OC'ed to what is in my sig. Anywho to make a long story short it dropped my temps from 72 under full load to 61 at full load. To me that is awesome. :eek2: 11 degrees for just putting in that little cheap fan. At Idle now it is at a max of 46-47 degrees and before i put the fan in it was over 50. Big improvement. So what i read was true that the video cards just blow the hot air around but if you put a fan underneath to suck the air out it helps alot. Oceanborn Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 Interesting...i added a second 120mm fan crossflowing from the hard drive cage to the video card and id idles at 54ºc....If no fan is placed or if I rely just on the front intake fan the temperatures climb to 61ºc on load the temperature never get past 70ºC with the extra fan...anything to cool those hot 8800GT
Hemidare Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 Yeah i think the key is getting the hot air out of the case from around the vid card. Ambient for me 33 degrees.
