remove all traces from the registry and hard drive

Recommended Posts

How do you completely remove a program from the registry and hard drive?

I know that whenever you use the add/remove or the uninstall programs, they still leave traces in the registry and other places.

I need to remove ALL traces of this program... your help would be gladly appreciated!

I use CCleaner all the time and it has an option to uninstall your programs from its own window as well. I find it convenient to use and a real pal to keep my computer cleaned of unwanted cookies, temp files, and unused registries.

revo uninstaller is built just for this.

You open it, and it prepares a list of your installed programs. YOu double-click the one you want to uninstall and then it uninstalls it. After that is scans the registry and system files for any traces of the program left.

Regcleaner is good because you can clearly see the actual program associated with the entry and remove it. You can get an old (but good) free version at MajorGeeks here. You may spot some things that the more automatic ones don't get. I use it if I'm having problems.
