slick2500 Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 This seems like a very neat idea, now I can backup my vinyl to mp3. There aren't any reviews on the egg yet but I'll do some searching and see if I can't find out anything about it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...-E3L-_-82698005

There aren't any reviews on the egg yet but I'll do some searching and see if I can't find out anything about it.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...-E3L-_-82698005 I ripped a bunch of vinyl by connecting the tape out jack (using very long cable, lol) of my integrated amp to my sound card's line in. Although I had to manually break up the tracks on the WAV files, I'm happy with the results. At the same time it gave me a chance to see how well the tracking force and anti-skate on my Rega deck were set up. As it turns out, they were quite good. So if you already have a turntable in your system, you may not need the separate USB turntable to convert your vinyl.
Angry_Games Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 yep there's also some great software out there made specifically for ripping old 8-track, vinyl, cassettes, etc to digital (it normalizes volume levels, removes noise/scratchy etc)

Angry_Games Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 well, I don't have a recommendation for the simple fact I've never had to do it myself, but if you google around, you'll find plenty of programs that are specific to restore old vinyl/cassette recordings. Lemme look myself and see if I see any familiar brands/names.
wevsspot Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Ok, I'll do that though. No need in you wasting valuable time. I just thought you had used something before that you really liked. DB PowerAmp has a free plug-in for doing the same thing. I may try it first before I pay for anything. Thanks.
