[Resolved] Is my PCI-E running at 2x instead of 16x?

Recommended Posts

I own a DFI Lanparty UT Ultra-D (S939) and I currently bought a new 8800GTS 512 and put it in the bottom PCI-E slot, since the card is too long and bumps into the SATA Cables in the top slot.

However, I am wondering if I made a mistake as I was looking at GPU-Z and it shows that the PCI-E bridge is running at 2x.

Is this ok or do I need to move it?

there's a set of six jumper blocks between the 2 x16 slots; with them in the top position the top/bottom slots run at x16/x2, if you move the jumpers to the lower position the slots will operate at x8/x8

BTW, there's not much real world difference between running the graphics cards at x8 vs x16
