Hemidare Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Just wondering what the best cooler would be for my naked opty would be. I know you need the screw down type so it will contact the top of the cpu properly. Just curious what ones you have used and with what kinda success. Thanks let me know. ReelFiles Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Tuniq tower 120 worked sweet for me on a naked 170, had that baby up to 1.5v never breaking 60C. http://www.svc.com/tuniq.html http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835154001 Just use our newegg banner in the storefront thread if you're gonna buy it
soundx98 Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 I used an Arctic Cooling 64 Pro on a Naked 170 for a year. Currently using a Zalman CNPS9700 LED on the same naked Opty 170 and at 31C Idle. Hope that helps.

bigbloke Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Clipped right on and I had no issues at all I don't know why you shrug. I used that heatsink until i de lidded my cpu. once i did there was a clear gap between the heatsink and the cpu. Hence the question. MACarter02 Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 how did you ensure tight mounting? Clipped right on and I had no issues at all no issues means his temps were good; Which means he likely got a tight mount.
soundx98 Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Wasn't being a smartazz at all. Just saying that I've been using it for over a year. Got the CPU from Praz and he had replaced the lid after removal. Temps were higher than I liked so he was kind enough to walk me through my 1st lid removal. Pretty sure my OCDB entry shows both Idle and load temps at 2850MHz.
