hmf Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 I'm presently using a Raid 0 install. I'm beginning to notice a lot of disk errors from one of my Raid partitions. I'd like to do away with my Raid setup and just go back to a normal install. Can I migrate a backup of my Raid install to another Hdd and then pull some magic and use my present install. What I'm looking for is the magic necessary to do this (if at all possible).
red930 Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Norton Ghost or something similar should be able to do it I would think. Personally I think it'd be easier and faster to just format and reinstall Windows.
kitfit1 Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 You could "clone" your present install onto another drive using Ghost, Acronis True Image or even Partition Magic. But you would not have an MBR. You would need to use your Windows cd to do a "mend MBR" and then make the disc bootable.
