[Resolved] DFI Lanparty NF4 DR chipset fan about to let go

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I need some help.... the chipset fan is starting to grind so before she lets go completely I would like to know what my options are (sensible ones:p)

I was thinking about a phat heatsink instead of fan since the stock fan is abit on the loud side, but then again should I play it safe and stick to fans?

Also, from the looks of it my options are limited due to space under the graphics card so if anyone is out there and could give me some pointers it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Thermalright's solutions for chipset cooling are pretty good (HR-05 and the SLI version). You'd have to figure out what'd fit best in you situation. If you want to swap it out for a heatsink that is more similar to the stock version, the the Evercool VC-RE is a wonderful solution.

Good luck!!

Thanks for the replies,

I was looking at my local supplier website last night (quietpc UK) and saw the Thermalright's HR-05... it looks a bit on the heavy side to me. - Anyone using one of these in a tower?
