Guest Jakalwarrior Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Ok I stopped using this board months ago because I never could figure this issue out but I fried my ASRock so im back to using this dumb thing. Under heavy 3d usage it sometimes just clicks off. Totally off like the power was pulled. You can turn it back on and it will work fine but you never know when it will do it again while gaming. Auto shutoff temperature is set to 85*C, my chip never sees 50+ I replaced the NBsink, that didnt help, increased NB voltage, that didn't help My overclock doesnt seem to have any affect on it though I havent tried at stock. Chip is at 250x10 with 1.375 vcore. Ram 1:1. HT multi 4. Cooling is a large very loud metal cage fan blowing into the case so much that its making me cold with the turbulence (to rule out heat). Im about ready to beat my head on my desk. The ONLY thing I can think of is maybe the temperature sensor wiggs out sometimes and trips the auto shutdown. I think I might try disconnecting the 4 extra pins from the 24 pin connector to make it a 20 pin since I cant verify that they work on my PSU (old mobo was 20 pin, maybe those are extra are faulty in my psu and overheating it). As you can tell im running out of ideas! I need some input. Maybe there is a bios with no auto shutdown feature somewhere? uneedav8 Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 It only shuts down in gaming under load?
Guest Jakalwarrior Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Thats the only thing ive found sofar that will do it. Orthos wont do it and it ran for weeks without a hitch in my spare computer / media server just idling.

Sharp Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 What program are you using to monitor the temps?
Guest Jakalwarrior Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Speedfan. Currently im piddling with the ram to see if slowing that down will do it since the games I play are really heavy on ram usage and it crashs on orthos large ftt (And I know this chip has a gimp memory controller, hates 1t above 248 htt)
Guest Jakalwarrior Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 well it seems nothing helps sofar wish there was some part I could narrow it down to and slap a lil heatsink on it or something.
