red930 Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Hey bud - long time no talk. Merry Christmas to you too. Might be sailing down to the Caribbean on a 115 footer in a few days. The captain will probably let me know tomorrow. Should be back before New Year's eve though. No one else want's to go due to the holidays. Me - I just charge more. Praz Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 At least with SP1, Vista 32bit users can think their 4GB of memory is available to the operating system. With SP1, Windows Vista will report the amount of system memory installed rather than report the amount of system memory available to the OS. Therefore 32-bit systems equipped with 4GB of RAM will report all 4BG in many places throughout the OS, such as the System Control Panel. However, this behavior is dependent on having a compatible BIOS, so not all users may notice this change. taowulf Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 1. It can give up on the stupid variations and lower the price on the one good Vista, Vista Ultimate. I’d say $99 would be a price everyone can live with. Damn straight. One of my biggest gripes about Vista is that the only version that is worth having is overpriced out the yingyang. That kind of money for an OS is insane unless it provides something truly special. So far there is nothing in Vista that is worth that price, at least to me. It can't do much better than XP and slower to boot.
