Guest ElAguila Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 I am looking to get a Q6600 for my gaming/video encoding system. I have heart a lot about how well the G0 steppings oc. The are more expensive when you find them than the B3 steppings. I was wondering what kind of oc's most are getting with the B3 Q6600's. I've seen people on a few forums with the B3 Q660 clocked to 3.8, but as usual, your mileage may vary.

Although it isn't guaranteed, I got a G0 revision when I ordered from Newegg about a month or so ago, and since it isn't guaranteed you pay the same $279 (free shipping). A roll of the dice at the best of times. And yes, now I noticed I dropped a 0 on Q6600.
Branjo Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Clubit.com allow you to select the B3 or G0 version I wish newegg would do this too I'd much rather give them my money.
Guest ElAguila Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 I was looking at hte cpu's on ebay that said they were G0's but I am thinking of going with ClubIt. I have never bought from them before. Are they good with returns for DOA items?
Branjo Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 I'll be honest with you dude they took my order when they said they were in stock and then because it was by echeck the order got put aside and forgot about until i complained like hell then 2 weeks later they apologized alot and sent them rush delivery, and the head honcho called me also and said sorry again. It started out bad but it ended up ok but I think it was just a fluk with me, everyone else says they are great and I would still buy from them. I would make sure my paypal was inorder this time, it was a mess cause my card I had attached to it had expired and it went through my bank as an echeck so partly my fault too. There aren't that many places that will choose the stepping you want, if you look at newegg reviews its one bad one good cause one gets a B3 then the next gets a G0 its hit or miss. The B3's are every bit as good but from an overclocking point of view, but you really want the G0's
