slick2500 Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 So far I have been able to get my Dual Core E2140 to 3Ghz on stock voltage. Idl temp is 28 and load is 51. Gonna test it for stability then see just how far this baby goes.
s1ick Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 temps are fine push the volts up!!!
slick2500 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Ok so far I have it @ 3.2Ghz @ 1.4V with my ram @ 960Mhz with 5-5-5-15 timings. I tried it at 4-4-4-15 timings and it failed Orthos after 4 hours, so I think I'm gonna mess with the timings and see if that fixes it. What is the absolute highest I can safely set the vcore to incase it needs more juice?
s1ick Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Well I personally wouldn't go above 1.5v thats a measured amount not a bios configured value.
ReelFiles Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Temperature is more important than voltage settings, to a certain extent. I got this E2160 up to 3360MHz but temps were through the roof, so I settled for 3200MHz.
slick2500 Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 So far 100% overclock on my cpu, haven't been able to test if its stable yet orthos keeps crashing
Guest LithoTech Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Just a thought... It's a common problem, stupid crashes when testing to see if a system is stable. Might be possible that some sort of instability is causing orthos to crash. The again, it may just be that it isn't stable. Try running small FFT mode (CPU only) and see if it goes farther. If so, it's the RAM causing the crashes and making it difficult to test if it's stable. If not, try bumping the Vcore and NB volts a tick. So far 100% overclock on my cpu, haven't been able to test if its stable yet orthos keeps crashing
Homeless Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 I'd try lowering the clocks a little bit to something you know it stable in order to see if orthos stops crashing. If it still crashes I would look at a few other things
