Bugone Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Ok. So ive looked around but cant seem to find an answer. What I am wondering is if I need a graphics card to boot my mobo - just to check its working after a mobo removal. Problem is I dont have a graphics card at the moment - not till tomorrow but I want to check it now - To put it another way, It wont boot (only the board LED's lit but no power lights) is this because there is no Graphics card installed?? Sharp Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Hello, Without the gfx card the board should turn on, CPU fan should spin and you should see some red LEDs. If this does not happen something is wrong. Board not shorting out?
Bugone Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 I thought it should too. I have the two orange led standby lights on but nothing happens when i press the power button? I'm doing a CMOS clear now to see what happens.
Sharp Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Is this using the case switch or switches on the board? <(try these just).
Bugone Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Sorry for slow response as I was away over the weekend. I found the cause this morning was the connection for the PCI-E power cable was in the Acc. connection on the power supply. Moved it and it booted straight away. Cheers for your help SHARP
