gtrdude485 Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 So I booted up my PC for the first time in about 3 months. I connected a Lexar mp3 player and was transferring songs over and I left the room. I came back in 5-10 minutes later and the PC is off. Now I can't turn it back on. All I get is a little movement in one of the fans every couple of trys. I've tried a bare bones boot with no luck. Where do I start? uneedav8 Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I would try another power supply....or use a tester on it.
gtrdude485 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Where should I stick the tester prods?
bldegle2 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 even if you test the PS for volt output, you really need to check the PS under stress to doublecheck the rails....a PS checked with no real load will not tell you all you need to know.... it does sounds like a PS gone bad.... laterzzzzz...... gtrdude485 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Yea I tripped the PS on and tested 3 different rails and no luck. Has anyone tried to RMA their Enermax for repair/replacement? Is it worth it or should I just drop the $100 for a replacement?
red930 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Enermax is good with RMAs. I think I had to send mine to CA (the one in my sig). Didn't take too long. If you bug the RMA staff, they can give you updates. Might as well give it a try before you drop some money on a new one.
