Should I stay or should I GO!!

Recommended Posts

AMD isn't past it's prime by any means.

Intel is just the current top dog.

Go for the Gigabyte board only as a lot of us have had our hands on one and we are familiar with it (and we recommend it!)

The thing is what with their financial state at the moment AMD cant afford the billions spent on R&D that intel can so id expect it to stay the same for a while, until AMD start announcing profits and have the cash to claw their way into top spot again.

To answer your question I would just get some decent timed 6400. Unless going for benchmarking records i really dont see the point in high frequency ram.

DDR2-800 is the sensible choice these days, price is as low as I think its gonna get. Keep in mind if you plan to use Vista (Spit) that you can pickup some 4Gb kits for not that much extra.

I think going for the GT instead of the GTS might be a better choice, bit cheaper too

He already owns the 8800GTS
