red930 Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I have an question... Not really out of the blue, i lost a partition... I'm talking a hd idee, 120 gig, 40 for the c-drive, 80 for games and stuff My drive, i assume this one, started clicking wich till this day i couldnt figure out. So after it began clicking again, i was thinking maby the motor of the drive was fraqqed, rebooted it since it didnt do anything anymore, and thought it may be helped by a fresh start. After a while i booted the machine and nothing... No os present, started up with the windows cd and tried a repair , didnt work, went into the install windows thingy and saw that i had c: 8 gig wich should have been 40 gig a "partition3" unknown - 40 gig. so i lost the format on the partition i think, if one calls it that... im reinstalling now , but i was wondering if anyone with an amd mobo has ever encounterd that since a friend of mine mentioned he did, (repr, you may know him from here) or any other idea's that might help:)
momoceio Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 A clicking hard drive is usually a death knoll. I recommend just getting a new drive before you lose all your data.
