Guest RandallTank Posted January 1, 2008 more like 5GHz come the end of the January
kitfit1 Posted January 1, 2008 It's a nice idea, but i have to agree that 4ghz for Intel cpu's is not that big a deal really. Plenty of peeps here in the UK have duals and quads running 4ghz+ on water and phase. But 4ghz for AMD cpu's would be a challenge, as would 5ghz on Intel. Could be worth looking at. s1ick Posted January 1, 2008 Yer I did think that but then if you look at how many people actually achieved 3GHz there were quite a few. I guess it says something about the consistent quality of a product, when i was clocking AMD's it was alot to do with if you got lucky with a well clock-able CPU. If it was a good week on the production line there were lots of high quality CPU's that had to be binned lower Im guessing. I wouldnt count your chickens about the end of january Randall, I swear I heard rumors of delayed release to intel not wanting to make the 65nm products unsalable. I think it was on here somewhere. kitfit1 Posted January 11, 2008 Clocked the Ultra as high as i could get it with the stock cooling. The scores are not too bad, me thinks. For everyday use i've backed it down to 710/1140. That is the core has gone up 5 but the ram has gone down to 1140.
