You'll probably have to pop off the back panel on that unit (the plastic cover) and look for the model number. The model number should be followed by one of the following alpha codes;

(S) Panel is produced by Samsung

(A) Panel is produced by AOU

© Panel is produced by CMO Chi Mei Electronics

I have not noticed any of those problems to date, but I've only had the monitor for 2 days.

It's been unreal in gaming so far. But I'll pay more attention to look for any banding, backlight or artifact issues.

I would never buy monster anything. It's like best buys Dynex. They are way overrated and way, way overpriced. I have a great home theatre setup with Denon surround sound reciever and all Paradigm speakers and i bought all my cables from here. Especially the hdmi cable. When it comes to 1's and 0's it doesn't get much simpler than that. For digital you have hdmi-best, coax-optical-good, then component.

My system sounds awesome and the hdmi cable is double insulated and gold plated ends, the same as other more expensive brands. Has some weight to it too. These people are great and offer free tech support, and are very friendly and sell very good quality cables. I paid $15 for my hdmi cable including Sh & handling. The cable itself was like $8. They even make custom cables by hand per your instructions, needs, requests, or requirements.
